Get to know how you can write the perfect resume

Whenever you are to seek a job, it’s not you that can defend yourself in front of the employer. The employer is a very stubborn man who just wants to hire the best person for the position as soon as possible and doesn’t like to go into fuss; and the worst part? He/she is miles away from you. All you can rest in the fearsome clutches of the hiring staff is your resume. A resume is something that stands up for you in competition with the thousand other viable candidates. A resume argues with the employer and tells them how good an asset you can be to the company; but the question arises: How to make the perfect resume? When you think about it, it’s a very big question considering the fact that the hiring manager has to go through hundreds of CVs in a limited amount of time so how to impress someone you haven’t even met? Let’s today talk about the merits of a good resume by showing how exactly you can compose something that’s worth the employers’ time:
1.       The font and the format: The first and the foremost thing to decide before composing your CV is the font and the format of the text. They say that whatever looks good to the eye at the first glance creates a long-lasting impression. Choose a rather professional font size of 11 or 12 and select “Times New Roman” as it’s the most widely accepted font. Also think beforehand how you are going to format the thing. Don’t put the address at the bottom and don’t put your qualification before you write your email.
2.       The page margins: Your CV should not give the looks of belonging to someone who doesn’t have the slightest knowledge of resume writing. Set appropriate margins and make your page look subtle.
3.       The heading: This needs some thought. You need to decide what part of your life you want to broadcast under the most spotlights. Most of the times, it’s the name but you can add anything else like a striking trait, right up there, if you like.

4.       The layout: This is the most vital part. You need to decide the format. Choose whether you want your academic projects to appear in the resume or not. This can differ drastically depending on the nature of the job that you are applying for. If you are applying for a post at your own college as a student, then you might want to list some of the volunteer work that you have done; but if it’s a reputable firm you’d like to join, make sure you write only what they want to read and at the appropriate place as well.

Which courses to take at community colleges?

The college life begins after you get enrolled in the college, but there’s a lot more to do than just paying the dues and showing up the day before. You have to make up your mind on what you want to study specifically and what majors you are going to specialize in. Selecting the schedule and setting academic goals are all part of the process. Fortunately, you will have trained professional guides present at your college to help you through this period of adapting to the college environment.
There are certain things that you need to be clear about before you begin to choose which subjects you are going to study. IF you are sure about your subjects, then that’s a plus, since you don’t have to think twice before selecting. But if you are confused between two choices or don’t even know what would be best for you, then there are certain points that we will mention here, that you can benefit from:

1.       General academic requirements: Most of the community colleges set educational requirements for you to be deemed eligible for a specific subject’s class. Like, some subjects could require a person to be very proficient in English literature or an SAT score of over 2 thousand; so in that case, if you fail to meet the requirements then anyways you are left with no choice.
2.       Selecting the major: You don’t have to step in to college and choose a major right away. You can start with a few subjects to get things going and decide along the way what subject could be best suitable for you. For example, if you decide on an English major right away and half way through the degree you think that computer science should have been your choice then you are in a serious predicament. So, take your time and decide intelligently.
3.       Elective courses: Take elective courses if you want to. Some courses, you are bound to take, but there are some other (often interesting) courses available for you to enroll in if you like. Elective courses are mostly open to everyone and are a nice way to meet new people and learn new things.
So, if you take the above points under consideration, it’s highly likely that you won’t have to rush for class help during your stay at the college.

Important Components Of A Great Introduction For A Narrative

There are different types of writing styles that are being used by the writers to convey their message to their readers. One of such writing styles is a narrative which refers to personal experience or story telling. All of the narrative assignments ask you to share your personal experiences in the form of a story with your readers. The structure of a narrative is usually different from other types of assignments or content because here you are required to tell your story in a conversational and interesting way so that the reader could engage himself with your story. So in the structure of a narrative, introduction plays a very important role as it helps you in grabbing the attention of the reader and also in developing their interest about the story. Before writing an introduction of your narrative, you must understand its components that will help you in developing an interesting and attention grabbing introduction.

It is generally said that brainstorming the ideas before starting writing is the successful way to develop an effective and interesting piece of content. So before writing your narrative story, brainstorm all the ideas and experiences that relate to your story. You can use the photo albums or journals and can also ask your family and friends that were a part of your story to remember what exactly happened. The more you will be clear about your ideas or experiences, the more you can write an effective and a better story.

As stated above that introduction plays a very important role in developing reader’s interest, so it is essential for you to make your introduction interesting and attention grabbing from the beginning so that the reader can feel compelled to read out the whole story.

Conversational writing style is considered effective and successful in a narrative essay because a reader will pay attention to your story only when he or she will hear your characters. So start your introduction with an interesting dialogue of one of your characters as it will persuade your reader to go through your story till the end.

Your first paragraph of a narrative usually provides information about the main characters and also highlights what the story is all about. Try to keep your introduction clear, simple, interesting and short because only then it will be able to develop your reader’s interest in your story.

Moving From One Idea To The Other Requires Adequate Skill!

It is very difficult for a writer to construct his work in a manner that is both easy to understand yet complex enough to hold the significance of the ideas presented in it. If a written content is too complex, the reader may not understand it at all and if the article is too easy, it may not be convincing enough to be of a particular standard. The question remains that how should the writer constitute his work both complex and simple at the same time. One core trick can help achieve this goal. A writer must know how to transition between complex and simple ideas and to incorporate each into the right places in the content. The switching tone and mood of the writing can make an article very interesting to read.

A  paper written either for research or for the school needs to be very precise and integrated. It is important to understand that this type of writing requires multiple ideas discussed in a knitted manner, leading to a concise conclusion in very few words. The main task is to include all the important points and to connect them so that the reader may not feel lost while trying to gain so much knowledge at the same time. For a writer it is essential to make the transition from one idea to another, yet keeping the content connected and the context must be same so that the purpose of presenting the idea is not lost upon the reader
.

Before presenting a new idea in a separate paragraph, a writer must build a connection to it in the preceding paragraph. This will help the reader to know and understand why a new idea begins at this point. In order to make these transitions between old, new, and simple to complex, the writer must fully understand his hypothesis he is working on. It is in the hands of the writer to shape his work as he likes and to make his work effective, a writer needs to make the reader believe in what he has written. Whenever bringing up a difficult point, the writer must introduce it with simpler ideas so that before the reader gets to the difficult part he prepares himself for it. This fluctuation and variation keeps the reader interested and looking forward to new points in the writing. Only a skilled writer can write a research paper to achieve this goal of transitioning from one mode to the other and this skill is achievable through sheer practice.
